Lawyering 101 is a week-long series of seminars and social events held each fall to introduce new associates worldwide to Davis Polk and its people. Lawyering 301 and 501, programs delivered after three and five years, respectively, are designed to help associates throughout the firm

understand what they can expect as they make the transition to mid-level and senior associates.

To provide assistance and encouragement to new lawyers, all first-year associates are assigned an associate mentor and a partner mentor.

Within three months of their arrival at the firm, associates are matched with a partner mentor.  Partner mentors meet regularly with associates to discuss work or life at the firm, in particular relating to the associate’s professional experiences and development.
